I'm averaging 34mpg around town. I've seen 43mpg on a trip to D.C. These are calculated the only correct way......manually. Start with a full tank, and the trip odometer at 0. Drive......fill up to the top again and divide miles traveled by gallons at fill up. The computer (like every other car I've owned in which the computer calculates MPG) is always about 2-3mpg on the optimistic side.
I do this using a Google Sheet I created on my phone using basic formulas where I do what you stated, then compare that to what the computer says. There's never been an instance where I was more than a mile off. It was the same for my '14 Accord as well.

I traded in my 2008 G8 GT and instantly doubled by MPG. Was only getting 15 mpg with the G8 going to work and back with 25% hwy and 75% city. Same commute in the Si and I'm averaging 30 mpg. My commute is only 7 miles to work so looking forward to actually driving on a longer trip.

I drive 2 miles to work and 1.5 miles home each day; no weekend runs, just my 3.5miles round trip Monday through Friday in heart of city traffic; with eight traffic lights to work and six on the way home. I never hit 40mph and shifting above third or fourth never happens. My mileage is 18.7mpg; a full range of each tank is 198 miles (93 octane). It lasts me about 3-4 weeks of driving depending on traffic lights and sitting in traffic. Mods TSP Stage 1 and 27won intake and exhaust. Never really on it, may spirited drive a stop light to and from depending on traffic. But when I do get on the freeway, my mpg climbs drastically!

With 16.2 miles? Of course. You've probably barely even tapped into the new fuel because you're using fuel in the fuel line from the previous tank. I'd be curious what it says at 200.

Most of my 18K (2018 SI coupe) is 35-40 mile work commute with 2/3 of it on SoCal freeway. The history is from day 1 and I know the numbers do not add up to 18k (about 2k short... Dont know why).

Not too bad mpg heh?

I use the Fuelly App and have been tracking my fuel since new pretty much.
After 31K miles, avg. fuel economy is 38.9mpg with a best tank of 46.6mpg.
These are naturally all calculated values. I regularly get between 39-42mpg using only 93 Octane fuel.
Fuel economy is just incredible with these cars.

My first 160 miles on the car has involved a lot of idling, but also babying the motor while it breaks in. 41.3mpg so far! I couldn't be happier.

The fuel economy if the best thing about the Civic for me. I get 36mpg during normal driving here in NYC and I am pretty sure if I took a long road trip I would get 40+ easy.

Do you guys drive with Econ mode on or off? I have it on during the commute days and off on the weekends.

This is the Si sub, so I think most comments have been about the Si. The only eco mode on an Si is your foot.

Your SI is probably begging you to bring her for a run and gunnit!

May I suggest that you take it out weekly for a run of a few miles. Having a direct injection engine may be a cause for oil dilution, at least from what little I know and have read.
