Next step will be LEDs, although I really haven't settled on any yet. Want to be sure I'm not blinding other drivers. Somewhat holding off as I'm contemplating getting a Type R.
I'll just add that I had a Morimoto HID kit installed and when things were working properly, I loved them. Unfortunately I felt like I was always hunting down gremlins. The final straw was when I started getting this odd vibration/flickering issue that would come and go and I couldn't seem to...
Looking to get rid of this plug-and-play HID setup. One of the bulbs doesn't fire and I don't feel like troubleshooting any further or buying any replacement parts at this point. Both bulbs definitely work. The bulbs are 5000K and the ballasts are 35W. The light from this setup was so much...
I think Acuity has a video or gif on their site that helps show the gate spacing. I'd say it's close to perfect for a sporty daily driver. Not sure I've ever felt like I was going to select the wrong gear, although I'm also not slamming through the gears either. For instance, for the 4-5...
I have the rocker and centering spring on a 17-19 CTR shifter and they are awesome. The rocker really makes the gates nice and close and the centering spring really helps tighten things up. They might be my favorite shifter mods besides my OG ESCO shift knob(I also have the base bushings and...
It's fine to keep updating the thread as you/your mechanic works to diagnose. Talking these things through as you go can certainly help and help others in the future!
This has been rehashed time and time again, but I'll just add that the ECU also uses the bypass valve to control boost, so if you are running any sort of aftermarket BOV, atmospheric or not, the ECU likely won't be able to control boost the way it expects. IMO, that can be more dangerous than...
This spring once it started getting warm out I noticed my driver side vents were pretty much ambient temp while the passenger side were cool (not as cold as I would expect, but way cooler than the driver side). I have dual zone controls. From my research this was a sign of leaking refrigerant...
Short of manually retracting the parking brake motors, the only option is to hook up another battery via jumper cables so that you have enough juice to turn the car on (not necessarily start) and turn off the parking brake. Ran into this exact issue when I left an interior light on while my car...
I have the same ones in clear that I picked up on eBay for like $30. Installed for over a year and are still working great. All of the ones that look like that are exactly the same.
I've never had issues tightening a filter. Pretty much turn until the gasket makes contact and then another 3/4 turn. I've been using NAPA Gold filters on my Si as they get good reviews and I'm able to get them cheap.
Sounds like what you are seeing is completely normal. I think STFT maxes out at +/- 35, so as long as you aren't seeing things max out and your LTFTs are good, I'd say you are good.
