Hopefully the Si does get the 2.0t..... However I still think the 1.5T can hit the power goals of 230hp and maintain reliability.... But the 2.0t might actually be the easier option if 230hp is the number. We will see.

As far as a Honda DCT in the Si.... Doubt it. Maybe in 3 years or more lol. Id be surprised if they offered that in the Si.
I'm kind of thinking like you, the ST2000 Fiesta now has over boost to 212 UK HP (220? SAE) for 20 seconds on hitest, say Honda does 230HP in overboost,

Let me say this I've been a VTEC fan from the mid 1990s, but VTEC HP is NOT comparable to turbo HP. Acceleration is area under the curve and the VTEC engine is peaky (less area under the curve). I estimate that my turbo cars (vtec or not) are equivalent to 15% more HP when compared to normally aspirated VTEC HP when it comes to acceleration. Basically my 275 HP ITR is equivalent to a 240 HP light turbo B engine non-VTEC. So a 2017 Civic SI with 230 turbo HP is going to be like 256 HP VTEC K22 CTR Mugen in terms of real performance. HP sells, but you drive torque. I can see a boost over load 1.5T or 1.6T needing premium.

also note the 1.5T is already VTEC in the UK:
http://www.civicx.com/threads/europ...201-bhp-vs-174bhp-american-in-2016-civic.564/

so 230 overboost is at least conceivable, maybe go to 1.6 liters.

Don't forget LSD and a close ratio M6, larger rear bar.

As a side note, I also have a 2015 Civic SI 4dr. The 2015 comes with larger rear bar, stiffer springs and dampers and 18" rims. It really is the best years of the si (14 and 15). I'm running the tires on my 2016 and really they make a HUGE difference in the 2016. The stock 16 all season steelies were just to get you home IMO.

Spent $15k on aftermarket parts and have and ill-handling sleeper, or trade it in +$6k for a '17 Si!
