Don't believe calendar time is monitored but the run time on the engine vs number of start-ups/temps (oil, water,environment) to calculate mileage to triger the "countdown". OM says to do an oil change every 12 months if the countdown doesn't start before then.

Good Luck - still sounds like the issue is related to last year's brake job. Unless you were "ham-fisted" suggest rechecking each wheel's speed sensor (left rear may be okay as the dealer did that one). The "tack" you heard is likely the start-up ABS or the e-brake self check, I'd expect all 4...
