Has anyone taken note of how much fuel use you use at the track>? I know almost anyone says " a lot" but recently I was caught out at a track day at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport). This is a very fast track with a lot of time spent at full throttle and I had about 2 hours of track time. Arrived with a full tank and 2 jerry cans of about 18 litres (about 5 gallons US). Car ran into fuel starvation in right handers with about 3 US gallons left in the tank after about 45-50 minutes of track time. Had to buy track gas (which was very expensive) but was ok for the rest of the day with the fuel I brought. Might have made it through the day with the 2 jerry cans but wanted to be able to drive home. Please note that I am on stock tune and no bolt ons. Interested in how much more fuel is needed with, for example, an off the shelf Hondata tune.

Should I arrive with more jerry cans? Not all tracks I attend have fuel for sale.

45 minutes of straight hooning sounds about right for a tank of gas. Are you tuned or stock?

I can get 2 sessions (20-30 mins each) at a HPDE with a full tank. Car is stock. My biggest gripe is that the fuel gauge doesn't read correct when burning through fuel, and it seems like it takes a while before it gets back to normal after a track day.

I agree, the gauge is pretty useless. There is obviously some issue with fuel pickup as well as when my engine started missing (in a long right hander), I still had about 3 US gallons left as judging by how much fresh gas I could put in.

My motor is stock for now, but I am guessing that increased fuel requirements are about directly proportional to increased power.

28mpg on the streets and 8mpg on the track. Sounds about right. Never go out on track with less than 50% fuel just asking for problems

With gas prices so high, I can barely afford my car payments so I stopped tracking. Got like $400 in the bank

I used to have fuel starvation in right handers before when close to 30% of tank. Now I never go out below 50%. The gauge is fine after a short rest. I'm doing an average of 2.5km/l (6mpg), so I take 80l with me.

I get about 6mpg on the track. Sometimes as low as 5.5mpg. Will always get fuel starvation in the corners (never noticed it was right or left) at 1/4 tank. Gauge is not reliable on the track, and I don't start a 20 minute session with less than 1/2 tank. I basically add 5 gallons after session 2, and then again after 3 or at end of day before going home (depending).

Considering one of those Holly fuel mats, but... easy enough to just keep enough fue in the car (if I was doing endurance, that would be different).

Seems that gasoline is about 6lb per US gallon so the extra weight is really not that much.

1 and 2/3 tank over 4 session. I used E35 blend and its like keep refilling it to make it at least half tank full.

I find that after a few turns on track my fuel gauge would become completely useless - it would stay at the "full" position until the next time I fill the tank completely. Eventually I just measured the distance I travelled and the fuel used for the distance, and found that it was around 25 L/100 km. Now I simply look at the odometer and refill after driving 80 to 100 km on the track.
