Firestone FIREHAWK INDY 500 - SIZE: 255/35R18

So Grams 57DR

Do you guys like this tire or would recommend to just spend the extra 4-5 hundred and get some Michelin PILOT SPORT 4S - SIZE: 255/35ZR18

I want the grip and it’s my daily.

Side note: hub centric rings?

I have michelin super sports on 57crs and I loved them in the summer. Now I'm running michelin as3+ on some vmr wheels for winter. Also love them no experience with indy's though.

If you get these do NOT try to drive in snow with them. In fact, you shouldn’t even drive on them in cold temps. I’d seriously consider a seperate set of tires for winter in your climate unless you always leave it garaged in winter.

If they are that bad in cold weather..... what about rain?

It’s my daily so if I need a more reliable tire I would rather go with something else.

They are not an all season tire, they are a performance summer tire. Sorry, can't recommend an all season for you.

Cold vs. rain are very different. I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my prior Si and they were AWESOME in the rain, but I wouldn't want them in real cold weather. Fortunately, that's not been a concern in the San Francisco area.

You won't able to move with these tires in freezing conditions with any form of snow on the ground, or even slush. They become rock hard hockey pucks, like any other high performance summer tire in the cold.

So I am guessing grab a pair of the Indys and when it gets cold, change back to stock wheels.

Seems like a decent plan
