If I was shopping for a car, most mods would reduce the value, not increase it. You have no valid powertrain warranty with that level of modification. That's a big deal to most people that buy cars. I would revert it to stock, sell your mods separately, then list for mid 40's.
Carvana and Vroom are both on the verge of financial collapse because they overpaid for so many cars over the last two years. As they start to circle the drain, the offers from them will drop. They will also have a much smaller dragdown affect on the used market as a whole.
I've never had the fuel door open either during autocross or track time. I've done two track days and hundreds of autoX runs. As far as CMBS, if you run in +R with VSA fully off (which you should) CMBS is automatically disabled. It cannot function without TC being on.
Check the RMM bolt that goes into the front subframe. I installed the Perrin inserts back in the fall and developed a nasty rattle that was imperceptible from the outside of the car but crazy loud in the interior. Turns out you should use some Loctite on that bolt. The extra vibrations had...
Do you work in car sales? Because you are definitely describing this purchase like a salesman and not a buyer. The WRX was not purchased for 21k. It was purchased for 33k.
I would set aside some of that money and enroll in an HDPE or track day. I’ve never met anyone that regretted doing one. The best mod you can make is to improve your skills as a driver.
The old saying was as follows: "owning a Type R is like a dream . . . you wake up and it's gone.". That was more in reference to the ITR's that were ALWAYS stolen. Anybody with a flatbed can easily steal any car regardless of the type of keys used.
Almost two years since I had ceramic pro put on. Worth every penny IMO. Washing is a breeze, and I don't have to worry about waxing the car myself and potentially introducing swirls. If I had to go back, I would probably have put PPF from the front fenders forward, but nowhere else.
If the RT660 is similar to the RE71R (and it looks nearly identical) I wouldn't use it unless I knew I would never drive the car in heavy rain. They do not push water out fast enough. Terrifying on the highway in a downpour. Great for tracking/autoX though.
These are the first seat covers I've seen that don't look like ass. I'd be interested in a red set just for protection. Don't really want black seats in the south.
I may keep the CTR and buy this. It's too small to replace the CTR for me, but it looks like a ton of fun. Actual rear biased AWD in a hot hatch hasn't been seen since the STI hatch existed. The Focus RS was close, but never actually sent more than 50% rearwards.
Just read through this from the beginning. I can’t believe you hit 140 down the back straight at road Atlanta stock. That’s very impressive. I’ve only done two track days in my life, one at Road Atlanta last year in July. It was hot, but I only managed 125. I can’t imagine staying in the...
If you think it’s good on the Conti’s just wait until you get some real tires. I did my first track day last April at AMP totally stock except for 19” wheels and 255/35 Bridgestone RE-71R’s. The car felt unstoppable and was flying past a lot of cars that should have been much faster on paper.
