255/40/18 Indy 500 narrow on 9.5 rim?

Yup but where the tire sits on my wheels is different than the where it'll sit on the TE37 and others. So you may actually look fine on a 255/40. You can see how the lip is still out and doesn't sit in the tire pocket like other wheels. Makes it look like the tires are narrower.

255/40 does not rub on +38 stock suspension.
The 275/35 will find out in like a day or two. I'm gonna do some tire coating first but I don't think it'll rub....gain 12.5mm tread but lost some height. If worried just get 255/40 looks fine.

Check page 1. There is a picture of 275/35 and 255/40 Indy 500 on rims similar to yours. Imo. 255/40 still looks fine on other wheels.... Just mine has a fat low rider lip so need more meat.

Here's a pic that shows the diff between 275 and 255 Indy 500. It's actually not a huge difference because that's Indy 500 for you.

At least I think it sits better on this rim with the new size.
