What engine lineup will the different models get?

Ya man and its also got Brembo brakes and adaptive dampers with special suspension that combats torque steerThe Civic Type R was just revealed last month in Geneva...
It's got a 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder with 306 HP / 296 lb-ft and a 6 speed manual.
0-62 in 5.7 seconds and it gets around Nurburgring in 7:50.63!
SICK! That's a world record FWD time for anyone not aware.0-62 in 5.7 seconds and it gets around Nurburgring in 7:50.63!
NIIIICE. This will be the first car that the new engine is used in? Curious how it takes to tuning. For anyone that hasn't seen it, here is what the 2.0L VTEC turbo looks like:
This thing is a beast for a FWD application
Yep. They are calling it a "highly efficient and highly responsive engine" that will output in excess of 280ps. Sounds to me like they are highlighting its tunability...NIIIICE. This will be the first car that the new engine is used in? Curious how it takes to tuning.
Brand new engine right? Then we won't know until the tuners and owners get their hands on it but I got high hopes. I'm besides myself tho at the thought of a 2.0L VTEC turbo and its tuning potential!I can't wait til the aftermarket gets a hold of it! Any guesses on what this engine is capable of (safely and reliably )
From the press conference in New York:Will the standard Civic carry over its engine from the current gen?
Thanks. From the press conference in New York:
"but this new Civic will offer a new DOHC VTEC engine for lower trims, and for upper grades, as I said, an all-new 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo from our Earth Dreams Technology lineup"
Just read that the DOHC VTEC mentioned in New York will be a 2.0L, this per Honda's Mendel at a round-table discussion. So base model Civics (LX and SE presumably) will get the naturally aspirated 2.0L, while upper trims (EX and EX-L presumably) will get the 1.5L turbo.Thanks.
So 1.5L VTEC turbo for the lower trims and a 2.0L VTEC turbo for the Type R?
