With the new Civic turbo getting 42 mpg on the highway, it was thought a hybrid wasn't needed.

Current Hybrid with a weak 1.5 litre engine is rated at 47 mpg. Who knows what Honda may have up their sleeve. Technology, especially battery technology, is improving dramatically. Would think something is on Honda's radar.

I remember reading somewhere that there isn't a hybrid or diesel version planned for the Civic X. Just straight gasoline models.
