And here I was hoping that the new knob was going to be the new insulated ESCO knob!

Hmmm. @ACUITY posts today, but doesn't mention the new POCO shift knob+boot retainer in the "official launch" thead?
$89 gets you a metal ball-type shifter in either black or red - I think red would look good in a Type R. I think that the cool thing about POCO is that it lowers the shift position - that's why it has its own custom boot retainer.
I'm guessing that if your usual driving/shifting position is your arm resting or just above the center console, then the POCO will get the shift knob low enough that the ball falls 'readily into the palm of your hand.'
You can accomplish something similar by cutting new threads into the shifter rod and using the Type R ball shift knob (and boot retainer) as I've outlined elsewhere, but the POCO is a much more convenient and hassle-free solution. (Myself, at the moment I'm on a bit of a reverse kick - I want the shift knob very high - which means that I use the ACUITY shifter.)
I decided I'd worked enough for one Saturday after launching them. LOL. Plus this thread seems like more of an Acuity chat lounge lately. hahaHmmm. @ACUITY posts today, but doesn't mention the new POCO shift knob+boot retainer in the "official launch" thead?

We would have liked that too! The insulated ESCO is our baby, our first knob, and perhaps our favorite. We're still working on getting them in new colors and in larger volume so they aren't quite so hard to get your hands on. It's been a pretty big challenge. Our standards for the insulated ESCO are very high, so we've been very picky about how we proceed. If you only knew the volume of test knobs we've thrown away trying to sort out new manufacturing processes, your mind would be blown. Quality or nothing though! And here I was hoping that the new knob was going to be the new insulated ESCO knob!
You laugh...that was a thing for a few days before it got picked up by recycling. ‍So, where's that dumpster at full of thrown out ESCOs?
We are currently working a very slick Satin Burnt Titanium version that has some purples in it. No ETA presently. There may be other options in the future beyond that as well.Any plans to offer the POCO in purple?
Any pics of the shift boot install on one? the knob looks great but not sure how the boot will look without the retainer nutHmmm. @ACUITY posts today, but doesn't mention the new POCO shift knob+boot retainer in the "official launch" thead?

Haha, you edited just as I was writing a reply! For anyone else reading this, there's no nut under this knob. The knob screws all the way down until it bottoms out. The boot collar that comes with it can be removed (it snaps in and out quite nicely) and affixed to the shift boot, similarly to the 1924 boot collars we sell. Once the collar is installed in the boot and the knob is screwed down, simply click the two together and you're ready to rock! We have a generic install guide and a preliminary 10th Gen guide live at acuityinstruments.com/install already, but we should be pushing a cleaner version of the 10th guide soon, along with guides for the 9th Gens, 8th Gens, and RSX-S.Any pics of the shift boot install on one? the knob looks great but not sure how the boot will look without the retainer nut
Nevermind saw it on your site, I suck.
Looks amazing!
The install guide is super good, shows it perfectly. Man now I'm really thinking about ordering a red one...Haha, you edited just as I was writing a reply!
