The kind they sell at Wal-Mart.
It's a civic, not a Ferrari.
Don't over think it.
I agree. Any decent 0W20 synthetic and you're good to go.

Basically, as long as you're not using Wesson or Crisco, you'll be fine. :D

I used the Mobil1 0-20 from Walmart. Switched to AMSOIL signature series and I did feel like the car was quieter and smoother. It is obviously more expensive, but I do the fluid changes myself

Specifically speaking for upgraded turbo cars that see this thread ask your turbo manufacturer what oil they recommend, stock turbo guys have the rest covered to a T, just wanted to add that for a person on an upgraded turbo that doesn’t know!

I think all of these oils are fine. Maybe you can look into your owners manual, to see what oil specification is needed.

The owners manual in Germany says that you can use 0W-20, 0W-30 and 5W-30. As long as the oil meets the ACEA A3/B3 and ACEA A5/B5 specifications.

In many markets, Honda specifies 5W-30. What do you think about that?
I been running it for quite a bit already just because I'm full bolt ons and I'm running e85 car feels much better more quite

Oil is a bit like religions - everyone has an opinion, everyone will never agree, and everybody thinks their answer is the only correct one.

Buy and use what you wish. All modern full synthetic oils are good, it doesn't really matter.

True that, these oil discussions also remind me on religions. But why not just trust Honda and their recommendations in the owners manual?

I agree.

Because people tend to make things more complicated than they have to be.

Simple solutions for simple problems is what I say!

i plan on switching to 0w30 synthetic at my next oil change. don't care about MPGs. just want maximum engine protection.
