Yes the oem type-r clutch .I know there's machining needed in order to make it fit ,i think there only needs to be milled some of the outside of the flywheel for clearance in the transmission case.Kinda like the old B and D-series .
The prices i took where from hondapartsnetwork.com and total price is indeed around $520 - $530.In Europe it is around £550 which is around $700 . The type-r flywheel is a single mass flywheel right?Could this be resurfaced ?
Single mass flywheels should be resurfaceable/reusable. You're likely correct, but unless you have the appropriate tooling equipment, you're left at the mercy of those that have both the know how and the tools. $520 is a lot of money to waste on a clutch/flywheel that you accidentally machine incorrectly because it's your first test run, and you're not sure how much to grind down. Until the process is discovered in detail, better for early adopters to go with someone experienced.

I would pay 1450 with quickness to have a nice smooth and capable clutch. I hope he still offers this in the future. I live in phx, so it would be a bit of a drive, but if he could get it done in a day, id be down for sure.

he probably dont do shit but grind a little part down or something. In the future if you need to replace the clutch what you gotta call eman to get a new one? what if he is not available? The secret is going to come out sooner or later.
you really don't get it if I'm basing just off this post. The modification is to the flywheel so it will work with our cars and misfire detection, ANY clutch you want to add alter you will just buy for the TypeR instead of for the Si/1.5t. That's the beauty of this setup, the flywheel portion you are more than likely correct on, but having a jig and someone that has already taken the time to balance and figure out where and what to remove is invaluable. Last I checked I don't have a Mill or CNC maching, and I'm not comfortable "dremeling" off a piece of aluminum that weights ~20 lb's that spins at 7500 rpm just in front of my feet.

It's my hope that it works this way, as it would make any future replacements super easy. That said, I'm not sure if it's clear yet whether the clutch must be modified to fit as well.

I'm pretty sure the type-r flywheel only needs to be modified .You can't really go and grind or mill on the pressure plate . If somebody buys the kit take lots of pictures of the flywheel and post them here.

Maybe you could also grind off material in the engine block and/or transmission case to clear the flywheel and E-man choose to mill the flywheel to make it even lighter .If that is the case it would cost nothing to do it yourself...Need to find out...:)

you are assuming he balanced everything. you are assuming he has a mill or cnc. you may not be comfortable dremeling off a piece of aluminum but thats probably exactly what he did. He is not saying what he did or how he did it.

He did actually say he had to have it milled and balanced... This is far from the only post about it and most of the information he did share was done via Facebook...

I've actually been looking for his FB posts on the subject. Do you happen to have a link?

Not much of an update on this yet guys. I reached out to Eman and he indicated that he's waiting on a local tester. Not sure if he needs a tester local to him, or if he's waiting on his chosen tester to report in. If anyone is local to him, reach out!

I saw a guy on FB from PHX, who told Eman he was willing to make the drive out there from PHX to get it done the same day. So maybe something will happen soon.

Hopefully. I was reading over his original FB post first announcing that he'd managed to fit a Type R clutch and flywheel onto his SI. He mentions not only needing to machine the clutch and/or flywheel to fit, but the transmission as well. If this is the case, then I can't see this mod becoming something that gets sold in "kit" form. While I know plenty of mechanics that I'd trust to install a clutch, there are very few people that I'd let make permanent modifications to my car's transmission. If anything goes wrong, you just bought a 1.5 ton paperweight.

There is a great need in our community for a good clutch/flywheel combination for the 1.5T that holds the exceptional power that many owners have been able to produce, while still being comfortable to drive. As of today, it does not seem like there is anything you can buy that accomplishes that.

We plan on changing that within the next week. ;)

Our solution will NOT cost $1600 or require any modifications to the transmission itself, clutch master cylinder, slave, etc. :)
