So I bought a civic 2019 sport CVT a month ago, not expecting it to be fast or anything, but not expecting to be slow either. I finally installed an aem cai today and combined it with ktuner (set throttle response 2). And the results are, well, pretty bad. I consistently get 10.5 seconds for 0-60 with some results being as slow as 11s.
This just doesn't look right to me, is the car actually this slow or am I doing something wrong?

What are you timing it with? It should be in the 8’s. It’s also really hard to get an accurate time.

I am starting the stop watch the moment I step on the gas and my friend hits stop when it gets to 60. We did around 15 pulls at dry conditions. The results barely changed as I mentioned and even if you add human response time it shouldn't be more than 9.5

Keep in mind that 0-60 times are generally done with the driver only. No passengers. Weight matters.

Having said that, your times seem off by 2 seconds.

We weight about 300lbs combined, that shouldn't be a problem. I was using octane 87 though, but I don't think that this takes away 2 seconds

Make sure you only use high octane to really take advantage of the ktune. Not sure how much difference it would make but that’s what’s recommended. I know mine is ktuned with the manual transmission and I can hit 60 in about 7.5 seconds or less. I had to upgrade my tires to do that though

That's a whole 3 seconds faster with the same engine, it might be because you have the manual but I doubt that octane 91 will improve 0-60 by 30%

I did like 5 more tries today with octane 93( the tank was empty from yesterday) and timed it with no passengers, the average was 10.63

pretty sure higher octane is required with a k-tuner

Same... I have to do a rolling start though but eff it it's a cheap, reliable, comfy mode of transportation!!! And it looks damn good.

I was hitting 8.1 seconds 0-60 before the tune. Times definitely seem off.

Yeah I think Honda knocked it out the park with the tenth gen civic design. If you are spinning at the launch then it will mess up your timing. Also is your traction control off when you launch it?
