What are you typically seeing for IAT2 with your new intercooler setup?
Ok, just did a little driving in town with stop and go. I was averaging between 103-109F IAT2, it was between 85-88F outside. Got cooler as the time went by. IAT1 and 2 are tracking pretty consistently actually. I’m not seeing a notable difference thus far.

Update:

Morning commute, ambient air 76-78F IAT2 91-96F in town traffic stop and go, not constant motion ie freeway.

Update:

Evening commute. Freeway driving ambient air temp 79-83F. IAT1 89-96F, IAT2 100-104F approximately 20 minutes on the freeway with constant motion.

Interesting things to note after a few days with this setup (PRL cobra race MAF and Depo intercooler).

Slightly more turbo lag below 3200RPM.
To be expected with the larger intercooler components. The trade off, drastically cooler temps and quicker spool when boost kicks in. Not to mention the turbo sound is fantastic. The car breathes much better and is not affected by heat soak like with the stock set up.

The car would feel sluggish at times on hot days after a stop light. This is no longer the case. Just some additional info: I’m running TSP stage 1 map with 2.5” Megan Racing DP/FP. A custom tune would really set this thing off. That and a clutch is in the future for this build for sure.

Glad you are liking it so far. I'm sure your reviews are helping people decide on this product.

Initial impressions:
Super solid kit, fantastic price point. I went with the blemish option from the website which came in at $415. Blemish is hardly worth mentioning. This thing was in great shape. Shipment was fast once it shipped after he got back from vacation. The items arrive well packed. Everything needed for the install was included in the kit.
Has anything changed with your thoughts on this intercooler? I still have it and it works fantastic. IAT (Maf Sensor) during moderate/aggressive driving is always about +2F, while my IAT2 (Post Intercooler) could be +10F or so at times.

I was talking to someone recently about this so I figure I'd ask someone else their opinion because I'm biased to this one since it's cheap and works. I always recommend other people go with a PRL, 27Won or whatever else is out there. You know, the popular, makes-me-feel good intercoolers out there. :D

This is literally exactly how mine performs. It’s honestly the best bang for your buck out there. And it is so much more affordable. Total package for around $400 can’t be beat. It’s very good quality and doesn’t look or feel cheap. I went with the blemish which btw the blemish is not even noticeable and doesn’t affect performance in any way shape or form. More people should be strongly considering this option in my opinion.

It doesn’t come in fancy packaging (it does come well packed and protected), or have a fancy logo, or advertising behind the name, and doesn’t come with instructions but the dang thing just plain works and it is priced right.

IAT = pre (maf sensor)
IAT2 = post
@Myx if i'm not mistaken ?

If you are not, than my short ram intake is just about always +2F warmer than ambient temperature. And it is always cooler than post intercooler. :)

i am wrong if it's for CTR (reversed) but for 1.5t i think i am ;)
when there is boost then IAT2 should come down quicker then it should be cooler than IAT if idle or just light cruising with some heat soak IAT2 reads higher though.

For KTuner IAT is at the MAF and IAT2 is post intercooler. It is the other way around for Hondata if I can recall. IAT will always hover 5-10 degrees over ambient unless you have removed your hood :)

for KTuner if it's on CTR it's the other way round but for 1.5t you're right :)

I know I'm coming out of left field here but I also have this intercooler and I'm very impressed especially on the price point. Do any of you experience a little drop in mpg? Also, I really noticed the difference in the way 4th gear pulls. I do have prl catted dp/fp, sri street and tsp1 but with just the intercooler I noticed it pulls so much harder and it gets to 100mph considerably quicker than with the stock intercooler. Just wanted to throw my two cents in with some other things other than IAT's.

cooler air = better power & more pulls

i have the made in china type IC some say it's sh!t some say it's decent, i say it works a little better than stock (i can get more pulls compared to stock) got it for roughly USD 200 for testing.

apologies if i'm out of topic but still related to IC though . . .

I have not noticed any drop in mpg. My mph did go up from 100mph to 102-102.5mph in the 1/4 mile (dragstrip) with the only changes being made was the installation of this intercooler.

It looks good, but as the Depo is a copy of the old PRL intercooler, this looks like a copy of the new PRL intercooler. Why not buy the real thing? For keeping the stock turbo, I like that it keeps the stock charge pipes. The stock pipes keep the turbo lag minimal for city driving.
