Thanks to the folks in this thread, I fixed my SW rattle. I first installed the 1/2"sorbothane dots as mentioned in this thread, then used a felling wedge in the third brake light housing to push the rear deck up so the dots made good contact with the back glass. We'll see if the rattles come back, but for now I'm rattle free.

for those of you that used the sorbothane bumpers in the 3rd brake light housing in the rear window, has it taken the vibration away 100% ? and how long has it worked for? indefinitely so far? I am done waiting for Honda to figure out a fix so I am going this route now

Just brought my car in to Honda to get my speakers fixed. Took them about an hour to do, I think they put foam in. I'm not too sure but now it's fixed!

Between the sorbothane around the brake light and sponge neoprene foam under it I have zero rattle even at really high volumes. It's lasted about 9 months so far.

Yes, I agree with @hondo, this sorbothane and the wedge from underneath is the best fix so far to date. Mine has been rattle free for months as well

I just picked up a 2017 Touring last night. When I got to the dealership on Thursday evening to test drive it and negotiate, I played around with the volume a little and listened - even at default volume it sounded really good. Fast forward 24 hours to being at home and tweaking it further, holy crap it sounds great. No rattle anywhere, sub level at max, other stuff balanced in the middle... sounds almost crisper than my aftermarket stuff did, but there IS a noticeable lack in really deep bass that my old system picked up fine, though I ain't complainin'.

Keep us posted on this please. Let us know if shelf was updated and it works
Just got her back they went ahead and replaced the whole back shelf and I tried it
and no rattle whatsoever I usually could hear it at Volume 15 on certain songs
and I got it up to volume 30 and not a single rattle. Hope this helps

Can you provide a part number to the shelf they replaced?

So I have an issue. I've insulated my whole trunk lid and trunk with sound barrier mat, and now all the rattle from my subwoofer went straight to my 3rd brake light. Anyone know how to insulate that without sticking some piece of plastic in it? I don't want it to be blantantly obvious.

I've been side tracked so I haven't gotten the opportunity to adjust anything. I imagine if you remove the plastic cover over the upper deck and put foam around the sides/top of the brake light then it wouldn't rattle anymore.

For the record, 2017 Touring Sedans currently coming off the line still have the rear deck / subwoofer buzzing issue (mine was manufactured in December 2016).
I didn't notice an issue the first day I drove it, while listening to Sirius XM..... but today I plugged in my USB key with my music..... the first song that happened to come on was Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust". Immediately noticed crazy buzzing on those bass notes at the beginning of that song, even at moderate volume. Can't listen to any more until I get out some foam and get to work!

I fixed my rattle using two door-stop wedges lying around the house. Did it as an experiment but no rattles whatsoever (and I play it LOUD), so I've just left it. Certainly worth a try if your're looking for a quick and easy fix.

Yes, completely removed vibration issue for me even with the 2 10s in the ported box I put in the trunk. The whole car pounds but no rattle from that break light
