Took a 2017 sedan (touring) for a test drive today, very nice car.

However, the wireless charger didn't seem to want to charge my S6. I'm using a SPIGEN NeoHybrid cover (which is thin), but it didn't charge. I took the cover off, but it still didn't charge.

The green light beside the power button was on, but no charge. There's nothing wrong with my phone as it's charging on my wireless mat here right now.

Is there something special that needs to be done to enable the wireless charger? Or is anyone aware of specific issues with the S6?

Thanks!

No issues when I had the S7 edge. Even with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case.

Try turning it off and on again?

ok, thanks for that. If/when I buy, I'll just make sure it works. :)

OP, try repositioning the phone.

Stardard charging mats are 2 or 3 coil, so depending on how you orient your phone the coil will charge the phone.

I know on my car my Priv will only charge when placed in one orientation.

Thanks, I will try that. i'm hoping that I won't have to do that though. The S6 charges wirelessly regardless of its orientation on any of the two $20 charging mats I have.

Our friends to the north have it standard on Tourings.
I was shocked that Honda included it because things like this is rare. LOL

I saw that it's a $300 accessory, is it different somehow than the $15 Qi chargers on Amazon?

Nope, same thing - just integrated into the car.

As I've said, if the Honda charger is single coil, you're gonna have to fiddle around with it.

**And** you can't use AA with it, which is my biggest pet peeve. I was gonna get it installed after getting my S7 Edge, but for nearly $500 all in...nope. I'll use my $3 USB cable, thx Honda.

I believe lack of wireless android auto is Google's fault. They've already said they plan on bringing to cars soon, but no word on whether older cars will be able to do it.

I have a s6 edge plus, and my wireless charger works perfectly. I put my phone on the back of the pad, as close to the shifter as possible.
