The smallest of cosmetics, but I made the chrome “Civic” darker with some glossy black plasti dip. It turned out really well with no bubbles, overspray, or tears.

It almost perfectly matches the “type r” on the other side too so that’s a plus.

Did same here about 6 months ago but with a slight gunmetal textured Rustoleum spray. Holding up well due to extensive prep and progressive layering (8-ish).
The lower spoiler rear edge ‘gerflap’ is visible too.

Are those aftermarket tail lights or did you smoke them?

Those are aftermarket. I see them on AliExpress all the time. Honestly feel like they’d look a lot better if the inner design wasn’t as rounded since the car isn’t really round.

Installed knockoff engine bay side trims. Fitment is exactly what you would expect from a knockoff. Not great. Still looks better than the voids left without them in place. I have a theory that it may help create some negative air pressure behind the engine that could assist with heat extraction through the side vents.

That the ones from Amazon for like $35? I was looking at them and then wrapping them in carbon vinyl.

If they’re anything like the Honda ones, not easy to wrap, textured, many fastener and empty holes, looks more of a PITA to do.

Even if done well, thermal cycling would quickly degrade and separate the wrap adhesive. I know of some fairly expensive that would do better but rough surfaces are tough plus these aren’t very rigid, floppy. Don’t imagine the aftermarket ones are any better.

If you go for it, please share pics once complete, and again in a few months to seehow it’s holding up. Decals do OK but not so sure thick wrap will adhere long.

The same ones. If you decide to buy them, get some OEM spec fasteners. The ones included are trash. I’ll be replacing them.

I have the red Sirimoto baysavers washer kit for the front cover now and plan on getting more for those side covers as well to do away with all those plastic fasteners.

I have the same ones, I like mine. Close enough anyway. Now my engine bay looks finished. I don't track or hoon or red-light race so cooling is same as before I installed them.
I didn't get fasteners with mine I used pop ons I had left over from my Z. They look great.
