Should be a plastic shield in your wheel wells. Have you checked?

ill check tomorrow after the rains gone. i thought it was like a fabric material.
if this is normal i may try to somehow add some sound damping material because its annoying.

I notice the exact same thing with the small rocks. When driving to work there is a section that has some small rocks and I can really hear it from the wheel wells.

The LX has plastic fender liners in front (maybe rear too) and plastic undebody aero trays . They are different in sound absorbtion from the "felted" material on the more expensive trims. I have read this but have not seen this. If it is possible can someone confirm?
The LX also does not have the hydraulic bushing on the rear trailing arm.
I've spent some time under my EX w/sensing and it has plastic lining on the front wheel wells and "felted" material on the rear wheel wells as well as under-body (which was a surprise to see).

Just traded a 2016 EX because of some issues, but it was a nice quiet ride. Now the new 2016 EX is so loud we can't stand it!

Just took it back after a week. They swapped the tires with another on the lot, & it is like night and day! Now only a little wind noise and a little tire/road noise that we can live with until the tire life is up. Will put on the Goodyear Comfort Touring. Have them on my old Odyssey & they made an enormous difference. Best tires we've ever had.

I've had many luxury cars in the past and this Civic Touring is the best of them all. Even better than the Mercedes C320 I used to own. I've noticed that different road surfaces make the interior sound a little louder but a great deal of the noise is attributable to the cheap OEM tires. I'm gonna keep the stock tires until they're ready for retirement. I just can't justify the expense because I will practically get nothing for these stock tires. Bottom line is that this car is probably quieter than all the competition in the segment.

I ditched my OEM tires on the 3rd day of ownership for crappy traction, now its also more quiet with different tires. I don't really notice any other noise coming from the car other than engine noise at non highway speed.
Have you noticed a change in any other behavior such as ride handling or fuel economy?
