Never had one on my fk8 but used plenty of their products on our j swapped Integra. They make good quality parts, I wouldn't be scared to buy their DP for the fk8.

Since it doesn't use the heat shields I'd shy away from it.
Do you know which downpipe uses the heat shield ? Or couldn’t you wrap the p2r with heat wrap ?

Wrap is not bad. But it's not the best. That and coatings are getting better. The best fix is to move the intake pipe but who knows when someone will engineer that.

Majority of the other brands utilize the oem heat shields. Rv6, prl, even the cheap garbage PLM use them. The hks does I think as well.

P2R makes very quality parts. I had their FP and Exhaust on my first Type R.

What are your concerns?

I actually know who the owner is.

Just FYI heat wrap is fine. Doesnt change intake temperatures. Buy what you like based on facts not opinions.

Putting a blanket or heat wrapping on the downpipe will have a positive effect on intake temperatures and help you stay at high levels of boost during spirited driving. That is a fact.

I just want it to know if it was a good downpipe before using it on my type r . I also want it to see how the p2r downpipe compares to other downpipe in the market like the PRL and more. 2 people told me it was a good downpipe and one person told me he wouldn’t use it because it didn’t use the heat shield.

I said to wrap it... the flimsy heat shield doesn't stop much.

I know many people down here in South Florida who run it. I also know their service is amazing. I currently run PRL But..... I'd gladly run P2R in a heart beat.

The heat shield is not needed if you ceramic coat or heat wrap the DP..... I do not use the heat shield on the PRL DP and it can support it....
