I'm in the process of building a race engine & here are some of the insides of our engines. In this case it's 2 different engines with the same code but are you sharp enough to spot the differences ?

there are 2 different stock pistons there, could not recall off my head but i'll check when i visit the workshop.

Crankshaft between the Civic seems to be smaller & thinner than the CR-V crankshaft but it could be false interpretation of image from my end.

Do 5PA conrod & piston fit perfectly in the Civic with modificafion?

it's the same engine code & i did not mention where the engine cam from or from what car.

So are the foreign pistons "beefier" than your stock ones?
Con rods seem identical, right?
As I can't really understand, did you find your pistons in good shape for the amount of abuse / high power output they have run ?

yes as per pic with better flow of oil too, much beefier pistons

seems identical but there are some minor differences, zoom into the crank bearing area & obviously the part # are different too

pic on the right are the local base engines but not from my own engine i'm still driving around town that's from another car with base engine. everything from the spare engine is in superb condition. i will not disassemble my original base engine as it is in good running condition so i won't really know but i will take a peek at it during swap process.
