Amsoil Oil Type R

When I eventually do my first oil change on my R, what Amsoil oil is everyone using (for those using Amsoil). How much do I need to purchase, what filter, do I need a crush washer, etc? I'm going to be going to a shop I trust with this car and not the dealer. Thanks

I personally use Castrol motor oil, but our CTR takes 0w20, buy 6 quarts because our cars take 5.7 quarts. Again the oil filter is personal preference but I use WIX, and yes get a new washer for the oil drain plug.

I second wix get the xp. Best filter out there. For oil I've used amsoil and torco but I like amsoil more

I use Amsoil Signature Series 0W-20 and OEM Honda filter.

I'm not going to comment on Amsoil or filter because I have... opinions...

But, ALWAYS GET AND USE A NEW, OEM CRUSHWASHER. ALWAYS EVERY TIME. Get a handful, and while you're at it, get them for your transmission as well, and run a ziptie through them all and keep them with the car. You never know when you'll be in West Texas or some place, getting an emergency service on a Sunday.

I actually just ordered my first case of Amsoil yesterday. I ordered the Signature Series. Planning to have the dealership change using my Amsoil and a H0nda OEM filter...and a new crush washer of course!

2300 miles on the clock. I am planning on getting it changed next week, to get the factory oil out.

I got it directly from Amsoil, as I noticed they have something called a preferred customer program. $20 for 12 months and you get 25% off every oil order. So I paid a little over $9/quart instead of the usual $12-something. the "membership" more than paid for itself on this first order.

Not sure if that kind of deal is available through a local dealer or not.

Amsoil signature series if you HAVE to go Amsoil. I personally use A01 Honda OEM filters and Motul 300v 0w-20 oil.
