I guess it could be done as a last resort. More of a higher risk and lower reward type deal. Usually the pedal adjustment, fluid change, and modified CMC should do the trick for most cars. My suspicion is people are just shifting too fast / before the clutch is fully disengaged causing grinds...
It’s because of packaging mainly. You have some of the hottest parts of the car inches away from the radiator. A lot of that heat is trapped. FK8 owners can look into custom fans and shrouds, different water pump, and full ducting as the final piece.
FL5 radiator is different and won’t work...
I’ve done it and nothing has happened to my car. It’s sat in the rain while I was at work. The vent isn’t above a whole lot of things that are too sensitive to water. Still it’s recommended to avoid it if you can
A modified and adjusted CMC will provide a significant difference in shifting feel
AC Delco SMFM will be fine for track use though you will need to drain it more frequently. From factory, there's a good amount of free play in the pedal assembly itself. This it to ensure people aren't riding...
People should stay away from EBC blanks for this car. They just don’t cut it. I don’t really like SRF fluid either, Endless has been more consistent for me
People wonder why I never recommend Mishimoto. Stuff like this is common across multiple parts and platforms. People gobble up their "R&D Marketing" its quite sad.
Sorry this happened to you. PRL or Eventuri will be a much better option.
