For those of us that are thinking about adding your DP but really like the OEM cat-back, what might one expect as far as gains with "that" combo? We made a little video of our 2017 FK8 Civic Type-R on the dyno during testing our downpipe testing.
The car picked up 16 whp and 6 ft/lbs tq with our catless downpipe. Car had our front pipe, FMIC and Greddy cat-back exhaust. (Stock ECU map, no tuning)
Our car picked up 29 whp and 15 ft/lbs tq from stock by adding our catless downpipe, front pipe FMIC and Greddy catback exhaust without any tuning whatsoever.
Also, we were able to keep off all o2 related CELs with a Fabspeed defouler. Not too shabby for some basic bolt-ons!
For example, I'm running your intercooler and Hondata's 93 calibration right now (and the OEM exhaust) and it's fabulous. I've been thinking about ordering your DP too but if I do, will it require your front pipe & a catback to see worthwhile gains? In other words, do I need to spend $400 for your FP and $665 for the Greddy catback in addition to the $336 for your DP to see good returns?
... that's kinda what I'm feeling you're trying to tell us with the information you've provided but I'm not sure. For example, the PRL website advertises 12hp with "just" your frontpipe and 16hp from "your downpipe" but doesn't mention if the "16hp" is a stand alone or combo figure of the two. I'm guessing it's a stand alone as the 2 pieces aren't bundle priced together but I'm not sure?
Sorry for all the questions... just trying to follow the logic path and I'm a bit lost, lol.
Thanks,
Steve
