So I finally got around to tuning my Civic LX with the 2.0 engine with a Ktuner. I gotta say, it feels damn great driving this car now. It picks up a lot better than factory, but the most noticeable change was in highway driving. I'm thrown back in my seat when overtaking, it's just amazing. If there's any other 2.0 guys having doubts about a ktuner reflash, I highly reccomend you go for it. With that said, I do have a few questions.

How much horsepower am I making after the tune? I know Ktuner mentioned 22 whp gain in their thread, but from my understanding I would be making less sinfe it's a CVT. What am I looking at here? 170/175 at the crank?

What cars can I compare my civic with in terms of power? I should be able to chase the 1.5t, maybe base model Sonatas and Optimas?

Would the Rv6 downpipe be worth it? How much power could I expect to make with a tune + downpipe?

Yeah I know what you’re talking about. Got the 2.0 to ktuned. It is a noticeable difference. The biggest difference is because Vtec engagement is lowered by 500 rpm. This smooths out the powerband. It doesn’t fall on its face on the top end anymore. Enjoy your new found performance.

I will someday own a 2019 tuned 2.0 coupe sport. Looking forward to it!

I love my 2.0 LX tuned as well CVT. I got into a race with one of my friends who has a 1.5t with deleted res and muffler and has prl intake. It was not able to catch up or stay consistent. It did stay consistent at start but when his turbo kicked in I was out. But hey my car does feel fast enough for me to think that I can race a 1.5t engine haha. It's still worth my money for the smiles.

I would think that a tuned 2.0 should stay somewhat consistent with a 1.5t. 158 stock + 22 tune hp should give 180hp.

Regardless, glad you're enjoying it!

Is a Custom Tune better than the Ktunner?
There is nothing to be gained with a custom tune with the 2.0
The brilliant minds at KTuner have optimized the tune for maximum gains.

KTuner transforms any of the Civics. If you are thinking that it will keep up with a turbo 1.5 you are sadly mistaken. I played with a 2.0 civic sedan this morning, he had cvt, and even off the line I had him. Probably 4 car lengths by an 1/8 mile and just walked away. Not really a fair comparison, stock 2.0 cvt vs TSP Stage 1 KTuner. Even if he was tuned, the gap was so big I can’t imagine much of a comparison. I’m not knocking the 2.0. Fabulous motor made by Honda, just don’t think you are keeping up with the turbo. But from what I’ve read the KTuner for the 2.0 is amazing and should be considered by any enthusiast.

I dont know...I think someone on here mentioned that they have a 1.5 Civic (stock) and a 2.0 tuned Civic and it's nearly even between them. I think a tuned 2.0 would at the very least keep up with a stock 1.5 Civic, the power at the top end once it's tuned is pretty great for what it is. I've never raced a 1.5 so I can't say for sure. Edit: Just remembered the massive difference in torque between the 2 motors, so you're probably right. I'd still be interested to see how far behind the 2.0 is though.

That's what I meant, a stock 1.5 vs a tuned 2.0. I don't have any buddies with a 1.5 otherwise I'd test it. Let me know if you guys are able to figure it out.

Tuned and FBO I could see keeping up and may be even better on the top end on a regular 1.5. The Si would still hold an edge overall though. Again I’m just making assumptions based on my experience.

I think it all depends on the amount of mods you have done. If the car is stock then a ktune is all you need

Its probably me you’re thinking about. I bought two civics. One for me and one for my girl. Got her the 1.5t CVT hatchback and got myself the 2.0 6mt sedan. Hers is stock and mine is tuned with the base tune from ktuner along with better tires so I grab hard off the line. We run neck and neck just because she can’t launch like I can. The CVT isn’t designed for that. But both run strong neck and neck

This isn't entirely accurate. If you have intake, catless, and exhaust, you can make more power with a custom tune (using Ktuner). I've seen 171hp reported at the wheels with all of the above.

I'm looking at getting the KTuner V2 as well, anyone know where the best place to buy or any discounts that are available?
