Sorry to hear what happened to you.

IMO---i would not trust him to do anything including taking tint off. Find a reputable place and re-do it.... yes they will also charge you somehow for taking the old tint off bezuse that work alone is not easy either (if you wanna do it right).
Yea I don't know if I can trust him to remove it... As of right now he's going to remove it tomorrow at 1pm and I'm going to stay and watch as he does it.

Might change my mind and just have a more reputable shop remove the film. Not sure yet..

hopefully he doesn't give you shit about the refund if you ask to leave it on for another shop to redo

Yep... That's why I thought maybe he'd be ok if he just peeled a couple corners on each window so he knew I'm not out here trying to scam him for a free bad tint job.

I'll just watch him as he removes the tint....
Luckily our mutual friend is close to him so that makes me feel a little assured that he won't try to screw me over.

* also I think he's only offering me a refund because his close friend that's a mutual friend recommended him to me. Judging by a few of his 1 star reviews on Google, he usually tells them to go fuck themselves if there are issues
What a terrible way to run a business. There are shops out there that guarantee their work for life. I brought my car back to my tinter almost a year later cause the edge was peeling on one of my windows. Did it for free and without complaint. They have 5 stars on yelp lol.

You can pay yelp and have them remove any bad reviews.

So I spoke to a very reputable tint shop. They told me to be very careful because the rear defroster can be damaged while removing tint. I'm spooked so I'm going to have this guy just remove the front and sides.

Might be true.

Even so, I've had 4 different cars done at the shop with no problems and would happily recommend them to other owners in the area. Hopefully you get your issue sorted by a quality installer.

One of the worst tint jobs I have ever seen lmfao

There is yelp maybe you should try using that before you let people touch your car

hopefully not charge to remove the mistake that someone else caused. hopefully the new, more reputable tint shop will see this as a huge honor as they are requested to fix a mistake created by a lesser tint shop. my fingers are crossed that you'll only be charged for the new, better install tint...and yes, thanks, but no thanks on bringing back to the same tint shop that caused this mess, but grab the refund tho :)

So I got my windows tinted Monday. The first problem I encountered that evening is that the auto headlight function would not work. No matter how dark it was.

I've tried letting it sit all day in the sun and then resetting battery. No go. I tried turning it on like the manual says by pulling lever towards me for 30+ seconds. Nothing happens. Hopefully it comes back up today. I reset the battery this morning and will be driving during the day and night so maybe it'll figure out when night is?

I've got some other problems now.. Every panel has folds/creases in the film or lint and pieces of dirty under the film.

Not really sure how to proceed.

If I tell him to remove the tint and refund me, there's still the auto headlight issue.

Should I risk having him redo 5 out of 6 windows and getting water everywhere again..

As a general question, is this pretty common?

Any body tint their car with no issues at all?

Not common. Find a shop with the most good reviews on yelp and pay.

I found you get what you pay for, you don't have to spend a ton but make sure you call around get a baseline for what it will cost and loom for a fair deal from a reputable place. This looks like he just slapped it on without any prep at all and maybe all that water he was spraying is what is causing your issue with the lights.

Get it removed ASAP and properly and then take the car to the dealer for service on them lights.
