Shit $4k to replace a synchro? That really sucks; I'm sorry to hear that. At the very least they should offer to cover most of it under warranty. They should also call in a Honda rep from corp and have them inspect the trans. I ended up splitting the cost with my dealer. I think my portion came...
It's time to replace my front brake roters and I'm thinking about going with the 2020 two piece roters. Who's done this and or do you think it's worth the additional price?
I went with the below system. It sounds great and has a nice low rumble.

I've never raced the car and it's my secondary driver. The dealer's had it for nearly four weeks now and at this point I just want to get it back home. Hopefully with enough of us reporting the second gear grinding issue Honda will have to finally admit it's a design flaw...
They're now implying this was caused by abusive driving even though the car's been in before with trans issues... Beware guys, Honda is not treating us CTR owners very well and denying there are inherent trans issues with the type r.
Honda is now refusing to cover this under warranty and want to charge me $1,400.00. And for the record, I engage the clutch fully when I shift... This the sixth manual trans car I've owned and have never experienced this sort of thing before.
I've never adjusted the clutch master cylinder, nor have I changed the transmission fluid. I'm seriously looking at running different trans fluid now.
I've got 11,000 miles on my '18.
Last summer my CTR wasn't shifting properly; it was very hard to engage 1st gear and occasionally I'd get 2nd gear grinding. The dealer ended up replacing the shifter cable and that seemed to correct the issue. A couple of weeks ago the car started grinding from 1st-2nd and it would barely go...
Update: The dealer called and informed me that their service department believes the issue is due to a faulty shifter cable and is going to replace it. I'll update further once I get the car back.
My 18 has done this twice now. Both times I was able to clear the codes by turning off auto rev matching/ then turning the car off. I then restarted the car, turned rev match back on and shut it off again. After a few minutes I restarted the car and the codes were cleared.
Just took the R into my local dealer to have 1st gear issues diagnosed. While completely stopped 1st gear is not engaging properly; I literally have to fight to put it in gear. Took the service adviser for a ride to demonstrate the issue and he confirmed. Not sure if anyone else has experienced...
Yes I installed it discretely under the hood and left it in it's highest setting. Power is noticeably better in sport mode and kicks up another notch in +R! I'm happy with it.
