My car weighs less and has 30 more hp, only thing is that it’s a manual vs automatic civic. Maybe I’m just not racing it correctly, I drop the clutch and kept the gas on when shifting, but I still get gapped. Any ideas why? I know the FR-S is by no means a drag racer but it’s bothering me a bit.
I had a chuckle reading the thread so I thought I would share, enjoy :)

Frs will probably be the slowest car I've ever driven in my life. Close call with the 98 Ford escort my parents had. Lol but on a serious note may have been the most fun I've ever had. Slam through 4 gears and still not be in the "I'm going to jail if I get caught" category.

SIdeways is about all I can think of with the frs/brz/86. Before I got my Si I saw a guy come around a bend I'm very familiar with in an frs and he got the ass to come out on it pretty well and it looked like an immense amount of fun. With not huge power there it seems like that could be done fairly often without tossing into a tree or off a cliff.

That's how I view my 250cc supermoto (CRF250L). It's slow, but still a lot of fun on the twisty back roads. You can bang through the gears, all 6 of them, and still not be at break-neck speeds. Lol.

/Shrug. I spent 7 years / 208k miles in a BRZ. SI doesn't seem noticeably faster? Better MPG is nice, but less time going through the gears is not so nice. Joys of adulting.

Drivetrain loss. Brz power has to go thru driveshaft, diff, and longer axles than civic. But brz truly shines on back roads.

the BRZ/FRS/GT86 would be one of the best cars out there if it had at least gentleman's agreement power, would be the best car of it had 300+.

but a new S2000 would shit all over it, so there's that....
