Hello,

I'm currently thinking about purchasing some Aftermarket wheels for my 10th gen hatchback sport. The site in which i'm ordering from offers TPMS for the car but I'm not sure if I need them?

You don’t need them. There is no physical tpms unit. It’s done via sensors already on the car.

Or a bit more accurately, the wheel rotation sensors' signals are used for a number of things, including ABS, TPMS, VSA, CMBS, ACC, speedometer, and probably a couple more I'm forgetting at the moment.

For TPMS, if one wheel is turning at a speed +/- 5% of the average of the others, it alerts (on the dash) that there may be a low tire. (Without any indication which one, which makes it less than useful IMHO.)
