Thanks all. Since it's a chain, I assume there's no routine service. Still wonder if the engine is interference ?

All Honda engines are interference, except for a few oddball J-series engines that were never sold in NA.
I think you're right and no disrespect but where or what materials state unequivocally interference. I've never been able to find anything.

No disrespect taken. There's a few lists online but here's a quick one I found.

You can also google something on the lines of "honda K series engine interference" and you'll get a bunch of hits as well.

That said, Honda timing chains are supposed to outlive the engine, so I don't think you've anything to worry about. Timings belts are a bitch.

For whatever reason automatic chain tensioners are often problematic. Lots of motorcycle engines have tensioner problems.

Apparently a bulletproof design does not exist.

I had a car with timing belt, easy to see if it go bad and easy replace tensionner if needed.
I replace timing belt at every 40,000 miles.
My other cars had timing chain, never service the chain or tensioner.
They where not Honda
