They look identical to stock bulbs, but just turn on/off instantaneously.

I use those same bulbs, they're a good choice.

Don't bother with the 7443. It costs marginally more and our cars don't need a dual filament bulb anyway.

I don't think the philips LED bulbs in question come in 7440.

At least when I was looking the 7443s were far easier/cheaper to find.
