I dont say is not working or working bad at all, but you can't say is the same. Of course you pay extra for well designed FMIC and also the brand.
I've been around the industry for long enough to know most all the companies buy garrett or cheap Chinese cores and make or have made their endtanks. Intercoolers aren't rocket science. The same size bar and plate intercooler will work the same between brands with almost zero difference in power.

You may check the amazon ad but I believe it fits all models with the 1.5t engine.
Thank you so much for your insight, we'll see what happens. I'm prob gonna get this one. I mean its only what 230 dollars after all.

Definitely worth it. Not having the car pull power after a few pulls makes this car so much more fun to drive in the warm weather.

I purchased and installed the BMS intercooler ($299 + tax and shipping):
https://burgertuning.com/products/b...ance-intercooler-for-2016-honda-civic-1-5t-si

Runs great, have not had any issues so far. My only caveat with this intercooler is that it only supports stock charge pipes. You dont have the ability to upgrade inlet and outlet to a larger diameter. From what I have read, stock charge pipes are ok as long as you are running stock turbo.

I have the bms intercooler but it's a bit heavy. What is the lightest intercooler? 27won, prl?

just looking at the pics you can tell the airflow characteristics. you can see plain as day between the PRL and these cheaper ones. with the PRL you are paying for the billet end tanks which increase the flow of air.

they may work on a stock tune but once you start pushing 26-28psi on the oem turbo or get a big turbo.. the intercooler will play a part.

My plans in the future is to eventually move to BT, but if i did get this cheap one. Would it actually effect my results as far as making power? I couldn't imagine it actually playing that big of a role.

im not a tuner so i wouldn't know how much a low flowing intercooler would affect overall performance. only one way to find out tho... but it could cost ya even more money.

yeah for sure, I will say wouldn't the k.con or afr help with knowing if you weren't getting enough air??? wouldn't the knock start climbing significantly high?

The slight difference in an end tank isn't going to make any difference in airflow. It's literally running into a wall of thin plates after that. It's compressed air, it will go regardless.
