About a couple of months ago, I saw a newspaper add from one of our big Ford dealers that had 3 - 4 new RS in stock and was offering over 4K off msrp. I don't think this is going to happen with the R anytime soon

The difference is people where able to order an RS from dealers and dealers were also able to get their own allocations. Dealers got greedy and ordered too many, Ford ramped up production because of demand not knowing these clowns wanted $10-15k on top of MSRP.About a couple of months ago, I saw a newspaper add from one of our big Ford dealers that had 3 - 4 new RS in stock and was offering over 4K off msrp. I believe only 7,500 were allocated for the US for 2017 and 2018 combined.I read that Ford sold 8,800 RS models in the USA. Anyone know how many Type R's that have been sold so far?
5th page about halfway down it says the Swindon plant manager said they have manufactured 12,000 to date. A third has been sent to US shores. I believe that is for '18 model year. So about 7500-8000 seems about right.

Hand waiving it as "usually" doesn't not make it a broad statement or true. You can't compare values of a mass-produced car that sells 100k+ ever year to something limited to 6000-ish like the Type R. As for your reliability claim, look at all the recalls Toyota's had and how terrible Mitsubishi has been since, well, always and you can see that one country isn't making better products than the other. This isn't the 90s anymore.Wasn't broad at all, I specifically said Mustang GT, I didn't say a GT350. I also said "usually", didn't say it's like that for every car.
I also spoke about their reliability, which is usually sub-par compared to Japanese performance cars.
A BRZ with all due respect, is not a high performance car in my book.
