I have an OEM LED headlights, which I leave on ‘auto’ for the headlight setting.

When I’m driving around during the day, the DRLs are on but does anyone know if the side markers on too?
Unfortunately I can’t really take a look myself while driving during the day.

Just wanted to know because I installed aftermarket side markers and I want them to be on with DRLs.

Note: If I turn on the headlights, the side markers turn on too which is great. If I set it to “light indicators”, that turns them on too, great. If I put them on auto and I’m in gear with the engine off, I see DRLs but not side markers :(

Everything turns ON when you switch it to auto and it detects less light in the environment. You’ll see it on your gauge as well that they are engaged or not.

Unless you wired your side markers to be that way, then they will not be on when only your DRL lights are on. Aftermarket or not. The side markers are only set to turn on when your headlights turn on when you use the oem wiring, so you would need to figure out which wire goes to the DRLs and tap/splice it.

Daytime. Find a safe place to park.
  • Start the engine.
  • Set the parking brake.
  • Roll open the windows.
  • Turn the lights to "auto."
  • Step out of the car to look.
  • Reach through the window and turn the stalk to indicate left.
