Hey all,

I tried searching the audio section of the forum, I've seen a couple people asking similar questions, but no real concrete answers.

1. Is there a way to disable auto-playing of music when you connect your Phone?

2. Also, is there a way to start from the spot you left off when you turned the car off?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

I use Apple CarPlay every day and it doesn’t automatically play music. You need to play it.

To be clear in no way by connecting your phone does it automatically play music.

Oddly enough. Mine does. Not sure what's going on.

If you recently had an app open that plays music (Music, Podcasts, Audiobooks) then it will auto play when you connect your phone. Otherwise, it shouldn't open up anything and autoplay it.

That's the strange thing about it. I make sure there are no apps open when I plug it in, and yet it still starts playing music! I then check the phone and iTunes is open. Maybe it's possessed, lol.

Phone apps have a back-end component that is always running, even if you close the user interface.

Try a phone reboot.
Tried that and tried a different lightning cord to no avail. Very odd.

I also have a Carplay issue.

If i have my phone connected and view for example a video on Instagram, click to hear the sound, Carplay then opens Music app on the phone and starts to play a random song or playlist.

Is there a way to disable this?
