Hello everybody,

I have been interested in the 2016 Civic for a while now and finally purchased one! I have had it for one week now and have been very happy. However, there is a potential issue that I would like to ask about, and I haven't noticed it until now.

When I turn on the car after it's been sitting overnight, the coolant temperature gauge (to the left of the tachometer/speedometer) does not immediately show a temperature reading. A reading only registers after I drive the car for a few minutes. Is this abnormal?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Nope it's normal! Thought the same sort of when I got my EX-T. It appears after a min or two :) Go easy on her until you see the first bar or two. I try to not go over 2000rpm before mine is fully warmed up. But do as you please!

No it's normal. Car is warming up and won't show an operating temperature until a few minutes have passed. I typically let the car warm up at least a minute before driving and then I'll drive easy for a few miles before I let her stretch her legs. Enjoy.
