Just got my 2020 shifter yesterday. Rod is shorter and I do believe the spring is a higher tension spring. I’ll find out for sure when I swap them out after work. Cause my job is friggin still up and running

Here is the 1 pic I took before starting to put the center console back together.

Hey buddy, I hope it's not too late. Can you measure the distance between the tip of the shifter to the first bend of the rod? I want to compare it to my CTR shifter and make the necessary adjustments to cut mine to size. THANKS!

You can't just cut your 17-19 shifter lol and expect it to be shorter in throws. It's the rod on the bottom portion that changes the length of the shifts. He also installed it fully already

Sorry, I already put everything back together... Maybe someone else who has the part still not installed can measure.

IDK why he would want to cut the top of the shifter when all that does is make the shift knob sit lower lol. the rod length on the bottom is for shifts.

The difference on the bottom is where the throw is effected.

Damn lol. Yeah I have a homie at a local dealer trying to special order it for me haha. Once I get it and installed will be selling my gold hybrid racing shifter.

Just got my 2020 R shifter today! Kind of wish they gave more thread or at least more room to cut threads like on the OEM one. With the Acuity boot collar nut and a shift knob locking nut, there isn't much room for a shift knob!

There’s a reason why the 2020 Type R has a longer oem shift knob. Whoever cuts oem shift assembly threads I think is ridiculous to do lol

If your collar is threaded why not use that as the jam nut and omit the second nut.

I do believe he meant cutting new threads with a die. Meaning he wants the threads to continue further down. Not everyone is trying to cut length off the rod itself lol
