Just looking for input/advise from anybody who's had experience buying their CTR from a different state and shipping/transporting it back home. The shipping company you used? Open or closed transport? Tips?
TIA :headbang:

I had mine shipped from Washington to California. Open shipping. Cost was $700. Closed was $1200. I wish I would have gotten the closed because the guy dropped a chain on my middle spoiler and scratched. They replaced it of course) Left on a Friday and got to me on Wednesday. Had to pay an additional $1000 in state taxes when i registered.

I did closed shipping from Alabama to California. Took about 4 days. Cost $1,200.

I think this is their info.

I don't know the info for sure. The guy I bought the car from has used them multiple times and swore by them. That's the info I have.

The car arrived perfect.

I would only go enclosed if it is coming all the way across country. Rocks, debris, and weather will wreck your vehicle on those long hauls. I've seen new cars with lots of rock chips and dirty AF come in on open transports.

As long as your car isn't the one on top of the driver you won't get them.

If you say so. I see trucks arriving with cars all day and rocks can get thrown into any car on an open carrier. You don't just have to worry about the truck in front or the one hauling. Even just driving around the freeways here, I've had rocks get thrown into my car from 2 lanes over.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but who did you end up going with? And how was your experience?

Spend the extra for closed transport, definitely. It's the middle of winter and all the best deals are coming from states that are currently under a foot of ice and snow. Your vehicle is going to be transported through all sorts of miserable weather. Spend the $300-$500 extra to protect it.

I ended up getting one locally, $3.5K ADM in Options.
I added up all the money & hassle i would’ve spent flying to Ohio & shipping the car back to CA... it would’ve just balanced out.
