I'm overall pretty happy with my cars acceleration but down the road I may get a tune to boost it up a bit. While I was surfing today, I came across an article that shocked the hell out of me. Edmunds ran acceleration tests on their long term Civic turbo and there was a huge difference in times with TC off versus having it on. With it on, they only went 0-60 in 8.1 seconds. WTF? That seems slow as shit. With TC off, they got a respectable 6.9 second 0-60. Their 1/4 mile time of 16.08 is slower than my 2002 Elantra GT. Does that even sound right?
Here are their numbers:
Test Results
Acceleration
0-30 (sec): 2.8 (w/ TC on 3.7)
0-45 (sec): 4.6 (w/ TC on 5.6)
0-60 (sec): 6.9 (w/TC on 8.1)
0-60 with 1-ft Rollout (sec): 6.6 (w/TC on 7.7)
0-75 (sec): 9.9 (w/TC on 11.8)
1/4-Mile (sec @ mph): 15.07 @ 93.39 (w/TC on 16.08 @ 89.1)
