I had to get under the car today to inspect my “skid plate” since I ran over an already dead animal on the road. Everything looked fine but I noticed this weird looking stuff near the passenger side firewall. It was coated all over that side of the underside of the car. Anyone know what this is?

Looks like a torn axle boot slinging grease. Check the inner CV joint for tears in the boot.

looks like you tore your cv boot. slung the grease out of the joint. you'll want to get that fixed before the cv joint gets crud in it.

edit: oops i was a few seconds late haha

Yea I think y’all are right. I’m not sure how that happened though... car is only 6 months old less than 6k miles.

Are you on lowered suspension? 10th gen axles seem to not like it when they are lowered. I have seen a couple threads on here (not specifically in the CTR forum) in where the axle boot starts to sling grease after the car was lowered.

I’m on stock height. I’m just running a 265/35 R18 wheel and tire.

Hmm ok. I would check for tears on the CV boot if you get a chance to go back under and look. If there are, get it inspected and warrantied.

I found what looks like the slightest tear after rotating a couple times. I’ll be letting the dealer look at it I guess, fingers crossed it’s under warranty.

Word of advice....put your oem tires/wheels on first.
Haha of course. That’s the first thing I did before taking it in. They covered it under warranty no questions asked.

I didn't realize I bumped the thread from 17 days ago.

My mistake.
