Thoughts on this roof rack substitute?

I want to get this roof rack alternative so I can put my kayak on top of my car. What do you guys think is it a bad idea? Does anyone know how much weight the rook can hold I don't want to damage the roof.

So my experience with these are that they work great for short travels, and speeds under 45 mph. If you twist the straps going into the car you won't get any wind noise as well. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is where to strap the front and rear of the kayak down onto the hatchbacks. So far I've only taken it to places close going slow due to the fact I don't have the front and rear tied down to the car. I'm already looking at alternatives as well, like the Yakima EasyTop. Oh, and don't worry your roof tends to bow/flex a bit, it'll pop back out

I figured out a cheap, safe way to mount a kayak to the roof. Hope this helps.
