So just an update ....
No metal shavings were found in the oil nor oil filter. Compression tests were done on all 4 cylinders and they're normal (182, 185, 180, 180). Plugs pulled ... no evidence of oil in the cylinders. Motor mounts supposedly fine. ECU did not say there was an overrev at all...
It's going to the dealership Friday for an oil change (and to see if there are any metal shavings in the oil or filter), engine mounts checked, ECU readout of the overrev, and compression test done. We'll go from there.
With my current living situation I unfortunately don't have access to stands, etc and I live alone ATM. Did some Google searching. I'm probably going to have the oil and filter changed first (and have them checked for any metal shavings. I guess that's apparently an obvious sign of damage. If...
Just to clarify ... my average MPG did drop @ 4 - 5 MPG and it "appears" the engine is shaking more in the engine bay? Maybe I also broke an engine mount?
I've been driving stick for @ 18 years and understand what and how to mechanically over-rev but ... yesterday on my way to see some friends I downshifted into 1st instead of 3rd trying to pass someone and did this rookie mistake. Never done it until yesterday. The tires chirped and the shift...
I figured out a cheap, safe way to mount a kayak to the roof. Hope this helps.

I previously drove an RSX for 10 years and the RSX had 3 stock tow hooks under the car (2 in front corners, 1 in rear center). Using 3 ratchet straps mounted to them and the kayak worked perfectly for transport. In 2010 I bought my kayak at Cabella's along with foam blocks to put between the rim...
I have also researched and cannot find one. Disappointing. There's another thread where someone put the trunk brace on their sedan and noticed a difference in handling. The coupe is missing that bolt threading for the sedan trunk brace.
Get the 19" sway bar. It's a little stiffer than stock. Im...
So there's been no noticable extra damage to the radiator with pebbles and road debris fitting through the holes of the freer flowing grille? Any more rain water that has entered the engine bay more than normal?
I had an RSX for 10 years. The low end torque makes this SI a fantastic car to daily drive. I don't care about NA VTEC anymore (unless they turbo that too). Not to mention all the standard features on this 10th gen. No regrets at all.
I have the coupe and unfortunately that 4 point brace isn't available. Ugg so frustrating because I really want to install it!
I may go for that rear lower brace. I already have a front strut bar.
did you heatwrap nearly the whole intake box? how hot is the box now to the touch after a long drive in the summer? Do you have more pics? How many miles on it?

I've had the hardrace mount on my car for roughly 4000 miles. I've noticed a VERY subtle vibration sometimes and a specific RPM. But it's also very cold here in the northeast so that could be part of it. It's not bothersome and I wanted stock NVH. This mount makes shifting and throttle response...
This was my exact fear about installing the brace. Looks like my fears weren't unfounded. Sorry to see the bad experience of what otherwise looks enticing.
Darn, I really like the red LED and upgraded arm rest. Would look good on my 2018 SI. Sucks they say it won't work. Also stinks the stitching isn't red.
