Sorry if this is an old topic. I have a White 2019 Honda SI Coupe with the HFP suspension package, and sitting on Enkei NT03RR rims (18x8.5" 42mm) with Michelin tires. I'm looking into ordering a Type R, but don't want to give up the rims/tires. Are adapters a good thing?

Thoughts.
Thanks.

well the Si is 5x114.5 and the CTR is 5x120 so you would need a conversion which basically looks like a wheel spacer. They’re typically 20mm or 25mm which would put you at a +22 or +17 offset. That offset is aggressive and would require some modifications to the suspension, camber, fender rolling, or all 3. You’re better off selling them and getting new wheels. Another option is going to a wheel repair shop and see if they can modify the bolt pattern or re-drill a new pattern. That’s the iffy route though (at least to me), but I’m sure they’ll know way more about wheel structures/durability than me to tell you if it’s safe to do or not.

Do it the right way. Sell the old wheels and get proper fitting wheels. Adding adapters is just an additional point of failure.

Thanks! Appreciate it.
