After driving crew cab trucks for a few decades, I'm enjoying my 2020 Civic Si, but don't care much for the skinny tires. One issue is that, since the rims are so close to the ground, the slightest brush against a curb causes damage to the rim and tire. I suppose I'll get used to and be more aware in the futures, but for now, I need to repair the (cosmetic) damage to the rim.
So the question is, how best to repair? I assume filing or sanding down the scrapes is expedient. Also, do y'all recommend any particular paint/paint process for these aluminum rims?
I'm also planning on having the car clear-coated in the next few weeks, including the wheels. Any issues there, given a new' paint job'?
I may be seeing new rims and tires in my future. Ones that aren't 'skinny'.
