Same here -- the heat shield rattling under my hatch was driving me nuts! I did a quick fix today by adding fender washers under all five 10mm bolts. Backing the car onto some ramps made it easy.
Glad to hear no more smoke! Although the internet can be immense, it's also local -- I happen to be the random Civic Hatch guy who stopped yesterday when I saw you with the hood up.
Tom
Sounds like you mean around the wiper shaft and not the circumference of the glass itself? I ask because Seal C is exactly what the dealer had replaced. Thx.
I have a fumoto drain valve and while a little door in the cover would help for Oil Change "A" not involving the filter, I'm pretty sure I would make a huge mess doing Oil Change "B" with the filter replacement, unless I took off the metal cover. Bottom line, I'd stick with the OEM cover if you...
Would you please post details on where exactly you put sealant? About a year ago the dealer did my fix (twice) under warranty but, unfortunately, this winter I've seen water / ice in the latch area and on my cargo mat. Not a lot but enough to say that the stupid grommet they replaced isn't...
3.5 years on the OEM battery with only 18K miles but lots and lots of short trips. After the state safety inspection on our other vehicle I asked the station about the battery and I watched them use a good-looking Interstate battery tester. Who here relies on testing to avoid being stranded?
I'm always happy to get an extended factory warranty at no cost. Look, my money is already sunk into the car so kudos to honda USA for extending this for unlimited mileage over 10 years. So if the condenser leaks, it's on them. I already had a leak but it was in the compressor and that was...
No need to ban, it just requires educating oneself and not listening to one source. Scotty is highly entertaining and could almost be in the dictionary's definition of bombastic, except he's a bit of a dirt bag at times. Look how many times he's announced that his channel is done. Honda's...
Same here -- that seal (a grommet) was the culprit. Also, in my case the dealer first found some gaps under the upper spoiler & applied seam sealer there only and thought they fixed it. However, a day after I got the car back it rained -- luckily -- and once again there was a small puddle in...
@PhilF I'd like to know your source because I think it's very wrong. Months ago I posted my Blackstone results to The Oil Thread showing 4.3%.
That was concerning at the time but now my driving routine has shifted from a 2 mile daily commute to none. When I drive the car it's usually 10-20...
Reminds me of a former co-worker who told us she slid off the road into the medium strip.
As for brake fluid . . . change it every 3 yrs. I didn't pay attention to the brake fluid on my wife's Ford Explorer early in that vehicle's life and ended up experiencing a line failure during a hard...
For sure.
From outside the car try pushing down on the trunk above the latch. If your model has a pass-through, from the back seat see if you can use the emergency pull to open the trunk. If you get it open then close it up and see if that frees up the stuck mechanism. If not, take it in...
To avoid confusion...I believe one meant to say that the P/Ns above will fit the Hatchback -- but the three console parts with TXM in the number are actually associated with the Honda Insight. We Civic owners with scratchy cloth from the factory have been ordering the Insight's console parts...
