Does anyone experience the parking brake being loud while engaging and disengaging? I remember it being smooth but today I notice it being loud

Haha, I admit I like doing it when people are walking nearby. Always get a quick glimpseI love deploying the landing gear when I have a new passenger and they snap they're neck at look at me "what was that?!" Then I give them a look lol
when your outside the car the parking brake is pretty audible when it engages and that gets people's attentionI know it's barely noticeable but is that thing really a head turner lol
well i did notice its only loud when the engine is off and i engage it, when its on its a lot quieter. most likely because theres still pump pressure to assist itYep. I remember my wife's HR-V one day when she pulled in the garage, did a self test on the parking brake. I had never heard it before, and I was like "WTF was that?". I figured it out later, and I dont remember it ever doing it again. Maybe that's what your Civic was doing, a self test. Just a thought.
