its doable but not easy. i did my friends Crank postion sensor on his type r. theres a small shield in front it. you kind have to feel for the bolts as you can really see on of them. but once thats shield is off you can access it. also i removed the rear motor mount so i could rotate the engine...
this was a problem on previous Honda cars with black paint. there was a recall on it. one of my friends had his entire 8th gen civic repainted by the dealer

the dealer will always tell you it doesnt fit because they go by what the digitial cataluge says. its more of liability on their part. if you are the one to provide the part numbers to order, they will go by that instead as per customer request vs you going in there and asking what grilles will...

the latch on the type r hood is in a slightely differrent location compared to the base models and SI's, other than that the dimensions are exactly the same
holy hell, :oops: that is unacceptable, especially if it is suppose to be done by a professional shop. looks like they let the coating sit too long before they were able to buff it level.
i also ran into the same problem, i bought the leather pieces that are on the hatchback cause it was like 20 bucks, but unfortunalty they do have different mounting points if you were to install it into the sedan. but parts look completely identical. so lesson learned, hatchback armrest are not...
