It's pothole and frost heave season here and I've been pretty surprised at how good the ground clearance is so far. Much better than my 2006 Civic with it's little rubber dam hanging down in front.
The front bumper is going to clear 90% of standard parking stops/curbs...obviously don't test it out. There are "feelers" one each side that hang about 3" below the base of the bumper that you can hear scrape on steep grades...they serve as a great warning.
Bottomed out the front of the car on steep-ish driveway. looks like it took a chunk out of the bottom coverings. Would it be worth fixing so water doesnt spray up into the engine? Do you guys know if some bondo can fix the bumper scrapes?
Man I wish I would of read this thread a few days ago, I parked head first and scraped the bottom right bumper on a high curb . Will be backing in from now on.
There should really be a front camera to see your right bottom bumper.
I almost always park head first but never go so far forward as to go over the parking curb or get that close to it. I just let the tail hang out; sometimes more than others. All my years of parking, I have never gotten clipped. Always backing into a space seems like a huge waste of time to me.
It's not really lower than some other cars I've had. I have rubbed the black under bumper once at the bank on a small incline. I use to drive a Daytona that was about 3" off the ground, this one's a breeze.
