I like this a lot and would like to pair it with my aux port injection system in the future for added fuel control via the Hondata. My only concern is the additional pressure on the cam shaft. For upgrades like this on the RS and other European cars - aftermarket manufactures do acknowledge and warn users about the possibility of additional wear possibilities on the cam shaft.

I am only asking because I don't know enough about these HPFPs myself.

Is this going to cause this same issue over time?

These pumps are cam driven. Question remains if this is a updated new high flow pump OR overdriven. Overdrive pumps are primarily how most all the Euro cars produce more power.

Fuel is the real limit right now on the R.

@Hondata

What exactly is the $150 core charge? Do we get a refund if we send in the “core”? What is a core?

For the high pressure fuel line. Send us back your old fuel line and we will send you a refund check.

To return the car to stock, wouldn’t you want to keep the core components? I can see that being an issue if you live in say California. :D

The modified high pressure fuel line will work on a stock engine (as will the low pressure fuel pump). The replacement fuel pump and injectors will not work with a stock ECU and would need to be swapped back.

I would be afraid the smog guy would send me to a referee for that :D

I’ve seen folks sent for less which is why I asked.
If smog is a big concern, then skip this mod. I also mod my car with smog in mind and only install parts that don't draw attention (LEO, smog tech) or parts that can be easily reverted back to stock (in less than 30 minutes). So DP, FP, full intake, exhaust are out of the question (for me), but ECU tuning, silicone intake hose (black), dry-air filter, intercooler (no stencil), shift knob, and wheels are game.

This upgrade is only for people that are running E85 correct? This wouldn’t be helpful for us 93 octane users.

yes i understand, I live in cali also. but your asking about this fuel mod. Unless you know what your looking at, they will not be able to tell the difference under the hood.
The LPFP is in the tank, the HPFP is visible but doesn't look too different from stock, and the injectors isn't really visible.

It depends. It your torque limited in order to keep the fuel pump duty below 100%? Mine was on 91 octane even.
