I put together a side by side comparison of the new 2017 Civic with it's main competition. I noticed two main differences. From the front 3/4 view, the Civic has the most sedan-like profile. And from the rear, it has the most angled glass. It's really more of a fastback/liftback than the traditional hatchback shape. Feel free to post your thoughts.

Thank you for putting this together. The Civic Hatch certainly is less "hatch," at least in the traditional sense, when compared to its competitors. Not to say it's bad or anything, but the style borrows heavily from the sedan. I like the idea of a 5th door, but not at the cost of less visibility? Like many here on the forums I was interested in the Sport trim but now that Honda released the full specs, my interest is waining. I can't justify a downgrade from what I have now just to have a 6-speed manual...

It's mindboggling how just in 4 years Honda has managed to take the Civic's design from zzzzzzzzz to WOW to wtf..?

Seriously. Aesthetically, that is horrendous.
